Hamptons Real Wedding: Sarah & Steve
Sarah & Steve have spent every Labor Day weekend in Montauk for seven years. So it was natural that the two wed there.
The couple survived being separated for five months while Steve embarked on a surf trip around the world. They stayed together, even as Sarah was training for the NYC marathon. Steve proposed one night after a great meal at a pizzeria in Greenwich. She was so excited that she couldn’t sleep. So she got out of bed & ran 20 miles the next morning.
The couple wanted their wedding to be simple & elegant. Sarah carried Calla lilies & the reception featured a brown & gold color palate overlooking Montauk Lake Club & Marina.
Sarah was the 20th bride in her family to wear the Chantilly lace veil first worn by her grandmother nearly 60 years ago. Sarah’s mother, aunt, & godmother have also worn it. The couple decided to include a special insert in their wedding programs detailing all the family before Sarah who wore the veil.
