In a brilliant throwback to the glamour of the 1920’s, Meghan and Colin were wedded in style.  Their inspiration:  “The casual summertime elegance of the Great Gatsby,” Meghan says.  The soft pink of her Reem Acra gown and the gorgeous Vera Wang lace bolero matched the peonies in Sugar Magnolia’s bouquet designs.  The bridesmaids wore silk dresses and the groom and his groomsmen wore polka dot bow ties.  All was formal and fashionable.  The couple even rode from the ceremony to the reception in a1937 Cadillac LaSalle!

Their guests turned up at the Old Field Club in East Setauket, New York in tuxedos and gowns to share an afternoon “lawn party” of cocktails and bocce.  In all the romance of the event, Meghan remembers her first dance as a newlywed with enthusiasm.  “The band played ‘La Vie En Rose’ by Louis Armstrong.  They hit it out of the park!

Meghan would like to let other brides-to-be know:

1. If time allows, make a decision and then revisit it as many times as possible before making it final.  You will be amazed at how the look and feel of your event will evolve along the way.

2. Take time to enjoy every second of the day -- it goes by quickly!
