Amanda Holt and George Corey's romance is the opposite of a "love at first sight" fairytale. "Truthfully, I thought he was obnoxious," Amanda remembers thinking of George. But George didn't give up easily. After meeting at a cocktail party in May 2007, George started asking friends for Amanda's phone number, but no one would give it to him. He was about to give up in September that year, but Amanda's friends encouraged him to "hang in there, because she's worth it." They then convinced Amanda to go out on one date with him. One date was all it took.

After dating for a couple of years, Amanda and George took a trip to Amagansett, one of their favorite places. According to Amanda, George had been acting "funny" all weekend, and she expected it was because he was planning to propose. The weather was cold and rainy all weekend, which meant that when the two took a walk on Sunday, they had the beach to themselves. George found a log for Amanda to sit on, and he knelt and pulled out a ring. "He said he loved me and wanted to spend his life with me. It was perfect. We were on the beach, it was just the two of us, and my best friend had just asked me to marry him!" Amanda says. That day, Amanda and George noticed a sign that said that Gansett Green Manor, their hotel, hosted weddings. Since they both love the Hamptons, they booked their wedding weekend that day.

The hotel is comprised of many small cottages, which meant that Amanda and George's families and guests would be able to stay close by and they could spend as much time with them as possible. At the time of their wedding, Amanda had been working for fashion designer Nanette Lepore for six years. It was important for her to incorporate Nanette into the wedding, and she fell in love with a dress from her fall collection with red, pink, and purple colors. She chose the Nanette dresses for her bridesmaids, and let the dresses inspire the color theme for the rest of the wedding. Wedding invitations, programs, gift bags, and flowers were hued in pinks and purples. The most important advice Amanda has for other couples is, "make sure you have a rain plan!" The day of their wedding, Amanda and George woke up to torrential downpours. Luckily, they had noticed a potential risk of rain in the forecast the day before, and George called to rent a second tent. Their second tent was set up within three hours, and had to be decorated last minute. Amanda regrets not being able to marry and take photographs in the beautiful gardens at Gansett and on the beach, and by the end of the day her white dress was soiled with mud, but both she and George say "the last minute ceremony tent was the best decision we made the whole time - otherwise we would have gotten married on the dance floor!"

To end the night, George requested his favorite song, Journey's "Don't Stop Believin." All the guests sang and danced on the dance floor, while George's friends lifted him in the air and tossed him around. Amanda hid behind her friends to avoid being the same fate. Still, one of the most meaningful parts of the day to Amanda and George was their first dance as husband and wife. Since they started dating, they both considered Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" to be "their song," and they have been dancing to it in their apartment together since before they got engaged. After performing at their wedding, several guests asked if they had taken dancing lessons. Their response, combined with a chuckle, was something along the lines of, "No, we just ‘practice' a lot!"
