Adam's family had spent many summers in North Fork, falling in love with the region more and more every time. When Emily and Adam started dating, Emily fell in love with the North Fork area, as well. Since they both loved the outdoors, the Hamptons, with its pristine beaches and picturesque beauty, seemed to be the perfect place for them. Emily and Adam are both find of wine, and the incomparable wineries in the region were some of their favorite locales for lazy summer days. As it turned out, Bedell cellars, their favorite winery, ended up being the perfect venue for their wedding day.
Adam and Emily went to college together, Adam was in a fraternity and Emily in a sorority, so they saw each other often. After Adam graduated two years before Emily, they lost touch for over ten years and to Emily's surprise got a friend invite from him on none other than Facebook. They began to message back and forth and catch up until finally Adam asked Emily out for their first date. Immediately there was a connection and it felt as if they hadn't skipped a day since college. After a year of dating, getting to know one another, and moving in together, Adam was ready for the proposal. Adam covered the apartment with rose petals and prepared a champagne breakfast while Emily was sleeping. "He woke me up on a Saturday morning, sat on the bed and simply said, ‘Today is the day I'm going to ask you to marry me' and was holding a ring," says Emily. Unfortunately for Emily, she can't see without her glasses, and before she could even respond with a "yes" she had to ask for her glasses. When she put them on and noticed the scene that Adam had laid out for them, of course she accepted.
Since the couple absolutely loved the wineries in the North Fork area, Emily and Adam knew right away where they should hold their wedding. Bedell seemed like just the place, "We knew it was exactly what we were looking for," exclaimed Emily. It was elegant yet had a rustic feel. It was the perfect place for Emily's family and the couple's friends to really enjoy the relaxed Hamptons atmosphere. There was an open pavilion and an apple orchard that really made the scene picturesque. To make the weekend even more magical, they rented an 1800s restored boat house with extravagant doors on either end, the perfect meeting spot for the wedding guests.
The day was magnificent - bright and sunny, and Emily and Adam couldn't have wished for anything more perfect. Their photographer surprised them with an audio booth where the guests were able to leave happy, funny, and wishful comments to the bride and groom. It was truly a great way to remember all the special moments of the day. One of Emily's favorite moments occured when their band sang "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" a cappella during the recessional. "It was an incredible moment," she says. The celebration was abundant with sweets, including Briermere's pies. They were a big hit for everyone. "It was absolutely delicious and added to the relaxed atmosphere of our wedding," Emily says. Every last little touch of the wedding made the day as intimate and sweet as it could be. At last, Emily and Adam were married, one contract that had been signed, sealed, and delivered, indeed.
