Real Wedding: Taylor & Brett
Brett Epstein and Taylor Strecker had a certain idea in mind when they chose Southampton as the location for their classic Tuscan-themed wedding. “We loved the idea of a destination wedding,” the happily wed couple told us in regards to why the Hamptons was their choice. They felt like the vacation feel of the area was “the perfect sendoff before the big day!”
The Hamptons also held another significant memory for Brett and Taylor as having been the place of their first meeting three years previous, in the summer of 2007. Having been introduced to one another through mutual friends, Brett wasted no time in pursuing Taylor for a date immediately. Taylor, although flattered at Brett’s attention, declined him three times before finally agreeing to a dinner date in the city.
It was a year and a half later, not in the Hamptons but in Paris, France, where Brett asked Taylor to marry him while on a vacation weekend with friends. Not know as being the city of love for nothing, Brett surprised Taylor with the ring and the fateful question in the middle of the courtyard of the Louvre, on one knee in front of all the tourists and sightseers. After accepting the proposal with a “yes”, Taylor and Brett celebrated their evening with friends and a romantic evening dinner at the most luxurious of restaurants.
The wedding was a celebration to the beauty of the vineyard and the memories that it held for the newly wed couple. The color scheme of the event was done in white and off white colors, with different shades of green in between to maintain the polished outdoor mood. Rustic furniture and monochromatic flower arrangements by Claire Bean further helped to complement the simple and pretty theme of natural color tones for the outdoor ceremony.
The couple held high spirits throughout the day even when dealing with the troublesome weather; the temperature for the Hamptons on the day of Brett and Taylor’s was at a record high. Despite sweltering temperatures and blazing sunlight, the wedding day itself was nothing short of perfection. Smiles were seen all around for the bride and groom walking down the aisle amongst the beautiful scenery of the vineyards and a light dusting of white petals on the floor. Gorgeous décor, amazing food and wine, and happy wedding guests made the day a phenomenal one for all.
For Brett and Taylor, a close relationship with their event vendors was an important part to the success of their wedding. The wedding professionals, each handpicked by the engaged couple in a careful decision, were big contributors to the smooth operation of the wedding and the happiness of the guests. Their tips for couples planning for the big day? “Pick vendors who you can not only trust to execute well on the wedding day, but can also bond with and trust as friends. Having a close relationship with your vendors makes the process, as well as the day of much easier!”
